about

This album was paid for completely by my part-time job at a convenience store in my senior year of high school, and it is meant to be enjoyed for free. It may be short, buy hey; quality over quantity, right?

Track Name: Absentee
love without anxiety
it's like love, except you're free
and I can't go back
they'll eat me alive

if it came to that
i wouldn't even try

and that would be it for me
my heart's another absentee (i'm there for no one)
it's not like anyone would give a damn

and i'm trying to stick it to freud
i'm lying low and i'm filling that void
with anything that i can show to prove i'm not a waste of space

i don't need you to be proud of me
i just want to you to see
what i can do when you leave

love without the wobbly knees
it may not be as exciting

but i'd take it any day
i prefer the lower heart rate
that comes to me
when i'm with my family

and that could be anyone
for all i care
i just don't wanna be alone

i might cause myself a loss of blood
or a loss of hair
but you can never make me pick up the phone

but that doesn't mean
your love has got to be
lost on me
Track Name: What it Takes
counting 1, 2, 3
'til this paradigm is over
you got so close to me
but i'm always getting older

i'm dying over here
i just need a breath of fresh air
i'd love to help you dear
but i'm pulling out my own hair

and i don't want to let you down
or let you slip away
and i know it's easier said than done
but i'll do what it takes

and i can feel the end
but i don't want to believe it
so i just close my eyes
and don't listen to reason

maybe it's already dead
and we dress it every morning
i've always been afraid
it would leave without a warning

but i don't want to let you down
or let you slip away
and i know it's easier said than done
but i'll do what it takes

i want you to smile
even when your world comes crashing down
i want you to smile at us and say
even if we lost it all today
there's still a bar to raise
so it's not over yet

i want you to smile
even when your world comes crashing down
i want you to smile at us and say
even if we lost it all today
there's still a bar to raise
so i'll do what it takes
